About me
Sydney Whatcott is an accomplished Special Education teacher with nine years of experience dedicated to creating a high-quality, equitable learning environment for students. Currently, she teaches Kindergarten through 3rd-grade students at West Elementary in the Tooele County School District, a position she has held for four years. Sydney’s career spans multiple districts and grade levels, from her early years teaching at Sally Mauro Elementary in the Carbon County School District to her time at North Elementary in Iron County. She holds a degree from Southern Utah University, where her achievements in Special Education earned her the Pestalozzi Award. In addition to her classroom responsibilities, she is on her school’s guiding coalition and an active leader in the Tooele Education Association, championing the needs of both students and fellow educators. She is driven by the belief that students of all backgrounds and abilities have incredible potential to succeed in their own unique and important ways.
