With an academic interest in human development, family studies, and community health, she assisted in several pediatric research studies and was awarded the Undergraduate Research Scholar designation. Project involvement includes the Utah Psychotropic Oversight Program, National Pediatric Readiness Program, Pediatric Integrated Post-Trauma Services, and the Utah Children’s Project with University of Utah Health. She is currently a chronic disease epidemiologist and program evaluator at the Utah Department of Health and Human Services with the Healthy Environments Active Living Program, focusing on physical activity and nutrition behaviors throughout the lifetime, policy development and implementation, and impact on disease and behavior outcomes. As an avid member of the Utah Public Health Association, she participates in the combined UPHA and USOPHE Advocacy Unit and is the Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility Committee chair. She is also a board member of the American Public Health Association Disability Justice Board. Her free time is spent active in the community as a mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Utah and playing the tuba in the Utah Medical Orchestra.
