2026 Utah Teacher of the Year
Joanna Andres is a dedicated social studies educator at Park City High School and the 2026 Utah Teacher of the Year. Currently in her seventh year with the Park City School District, she is recognized for her innovative, student-centered approach to education and her ability to foster deep civic engagement. Under her leadership, enrollment in AP Government has flourished, with students consistently exceeding state and national achievement averages.
Beyond the classroom, Joanna has served as the Social Studies and AP Department Chair, and she previously pioneered a data-driven Response to Intervention program at the Weilenmann School of Discovery. She holds a Master of Arts in Teaching from National University and is a fierce advocate for public education. Joanna is celebrated for creating dynamic learning environments where students feel empowered to engage in respectful debate and connect history to their daily lives.
