About me
Jayceen has been with the planetarium in one way or another since 1987 at the Hansen when she was an actor in The ZAP Show. She joined the staff in 1989 and worked her way up through the ranks of part-time reservationist, science demo presenter, AstroVan presenter, volunteer coordinator, presenter for shows in the dome theater and advocacy coordinator. She was hired away to help other science organizations strengthen and secure funding for their outreach program. She returned to the Hansen just in time for the transition to the Clark in 2003 as a member of the Marketing Department. She returned to the Education Department in the fall of 2023 and is thrilled to be back on the road teaching across the state. Jayceen was selected by NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory to serve as a NASA Solar System Ambassador, joining a worldwide network of over 1300 ambassadors. She has a musical theatre degree from Southern Utah University. She served many years on the Utah Museum Association board and was with the Phil Notarianni Lifetime Achievement Award. She was also awarded the Marv Tolman Award from the Utah Science Teachers Association in 2025.
