Amy L. Reynolds, Ph.D., is a Research Associate at the Utah Education Policy Center (UEPC), where she leads research and evaluation projects in partnership with state agencies and educational organizations within and beyond Utah. Her recent work includes a statewide governance study for youth apprenticeships and research on school-level factors informing post-pandemic academic recovery at positive outlier schools in Utah. Prior to joining UEPC, Amy worked at EdPolicyWorks at the University of Virginia on IES grant-funded projects examining the impacts of the pandemic on student and teacher outcomes and how teachers' working conditions impact retention and job satisfaction. Amy's research focuses on improving equitable access to high-quality educational opportunities using rigorous quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods approaches. Her work has been published in the American Educational Research Journal, Educational Review, and Leadership and Policy in Schools. Amy brings more than 20 years of experience in education, including nearly a decade as a public high school science teacher in Chicago and Charlottesville. She holds a Ph.D. and M.Ed. in Educational Leadership from the University of Virginia and a B.A. in Biology from Hope College.
